Transport of a sugar factory to France

We organized the relocation of an entire sugar factory from Germany and Poland to central France for a customer. Due to the dimensions, several parts of the plant had to be transported by inland waterway vessel.

The components were first transported overland to inland ports, where they were loaded onto mobile cranes and then transported by ship to a French inland port – around 100 km from their final destination. For the last stage, the components were transferred to heavy-duty trucks, including transports with a width of up to 720 cm, which required detailed route planning and special traffic management.

Even unforeseen situations, such as a blockade in Antwerp, were flexibly overcome by using alternative ships and routes.

Thanks to careful planning, close coordination with authorities, and strong local partners, the project was completed successfully and on schedule – to the customer's complete satisfaction.
